Looking to put forth a better performance against a strong Swiss side, the boys from Demony Miejska Gorka were unable to put up much of a fight. Player-coach J.B. Tucker took the hill for Therwil and gave a solid effort, scattering the Polish side’s hits, and keeping them by and large off the scoreboard. The Flyers jumped out to an early 4:1 lead and never let off the gas pedal, riding a strong offensive showing to a 14:2 win

With another double-digit win under their belt, the team from MPGU-SYOS #42 has made their presence felt, and by crushing Academica de Coimbra made another step towards the title. In the 14:0 loss to the Russians, the Portuguese had a tough time figuring out Maxim Sevchenko, who dominated from the mound for “Team Moskau Number Forty-Two“. Just two hits, in the second and seventh innings, stained Sevchenko’s stellar performance.

The Solingen Alligators made short work of the Oslo Pretenders in the nightcap. With Sebastian Bernards dealing a no-hitter from the mound, the Solingen pitching staff extended their unhittable repertoire through a second game, while four Pretenders took the mound yet were unable to find any way to stop the tournament hosts from their carousel around the bases. With the score 19:0 after just 5 innings, the game was called due to the CEB 15-Run-Rule.

The Pretenders were able to take solace at the Home Run Derby taking place following the evening’s game. After three rounds without a home run, director Andre Hughes decided the longest distance would stand as the winning swing. Norwegian Leif Petter Sandvik met the challenge, and will take home the trophy donated by Dinger Bats and the prize of three bats. Congratulations!
